Workshop
Assertiveness and self-defense consume enormous resources: being attentive, being present, setting boundaries, screaming, hitting, running away. But what happens when we no longer have the energy to do so? What simple and energy-saving techniques can we use to still be able to defend ourselves?
Birte Opitz is a performer and feminist self-assertion and self-defense trainer. In her art and teaching, she combines somatic dance and voice work with self-assertion to create hybrid formats. At the festival, she wants to work with participants to find out how self-assertion through body and voice work can also be practiced by those who are chronically exhausted. In a mixture of performance, guided exercises, and joint research, Opitz is not only looking for a substantive perspective, but also for her own artistic-mediating format.
